How Often Should You Deep Clean Your Home?
Every home asks this eventually: is a weekly wipe-down enough, or is it time for something more thorough? The honest answer is that it depends less on the calendar and more on what's actually happening in the house.
The one-time deep clean
A deep clean is the reset button: every surface, every room, baseboards and appliances included. It makes sense when a home has gotten away from you (life happens), before a big event, or simply as a starting point before switching to a lighter recurring schedule.
The recurring maintenance clean
Once a home is at a baseline you're happy with, the job shifts from resetting to maintaining. Most households land on a biweekly rhythm.
- Weekly: full houses, pets, or a schedule with little time for upkeep in between
- Biweekly: the most common fit, keeps a clean home clean without piling up
- Monthly: smaller or quieter homes that don't accumulate mess quickly
There's no wrong place to start. A one-time deep clean is a perfectly good way to see how a space feels before committing to anything recurring.
